The Leadership Forum was created by the Alaska Federation of Natives to help bring “knowledge-based economies” to a multicultural world.

Because it is multicultural, I couldn’t use the Northwest Native design motifs (which are some of the most gorgeous and graphic native arts in the world). Instead, I chose basic elements that are present in all cultures--wood, metal, and earth. Red is a universal color among cultures, and here it’s also used to signify the lifeblood of the people.

The rest of the site is warm, yet intentionally clean and modern, to reflect the moden, knowledge-based approach.

The site’s design is kept flexible, so it’s easy to change, update, and use year after year for new new events.
